    Get the best shotgun you can afford. You will need it when she's a teenager.

    Great idea. Be sure to get multiple guns. You might even want to put up an electric fence or even dig a moat. I know some people that will sell you some gators for your moat if you want. Let me know.

    Nice! Gotta love the Second Amendment. Although our Founding Fathers claimed that the Second Amendment was a necessary protection for the citizenry against a tyrannical government, I'm fairly certain that it was included in the Constitution for the same reason you're exercising your right to bear arms: because they had daughters too! Is this for ownership or for conceal carry? If you can, make sure you get a CCW permit! Any dude trying to hook up your daughter is going to think twice (as well as wish he had a second pair of BVDs) when he's looking down the business end of your .45! My daughter is going to absolutely HATE me when she gets to “dating” age! LOL!

    congrats. girls are fun, but let me just say full of DRAMA. i went through so much drama with my 13 yo in the last 2 or 3 mos. i'm lucky to be alive! lol my ex used to say that he was gonna have to get himself a gun, but i think boys have to worry more about me now. i have one kid scared! lmao :0)

    Congratulations! It's so funny that men always reach for the shotgun when they have daughters because they are protecting them from young men. I guess it's a case of “I know what he's thinking!” I call The Mister “The Intimidator” because that's what he's done with the young men The Oldest has dated. It's a stitch to watch, but I love him for it.

    I'm definitely digging a moat, but I'm going to fill it with a 1,000 piranha. You could conceivably evade a few gators, but good luck escaping from 1,000 piranha.

    Actually, the application was just a gag. If and when I have to exercise my “authority” as a father I'm going old school. Ever see 'A Bronx Tale'? “Now's yous can't leave” :)

    Oh yeah, she isn't even born yet and I'm drawing up plans for my man cave so I have a place to escape when those days inevitably roll around.

    I'm trying to develop a “look” so I can be intimidating, that would be even better. Kind of a Teddy Roosevelt thing. Speak softly and carry a big stick. :)
