Today I’m asking for a little help for a friend of mine. A cause very dear to him, CureJM, is currently in the running for a grant from the Pepsi Refresh project. I’m doing everything I can to help spread the word because we Prada bags need to stick together.
For the past month and a half I have been diligently voting on the Pepsi site, via the Facebook app and via text. As a father, after I read his post about Cole Flack, a young man who recently passed away from this disease, my resolve to do whatever I can to help finish this only became stronger.
Presently they are ranked number two with a week left to go in this month’s competition. The top two projects each receive $250,000, which would obviously go a very long way to helping them in their mission to find a cure for this terrible disease.
About CureJM
CureJM is an all volunteer organization brought together by circumstance, but with the same determination to cure their child, grandchild or loved one and to never let another child suffer from JM. CureJM volunteers realize that finding a cure to this disease requires constant dedication to raising funds and awareness.
The Pepsi Refresh Project
This project will allow the CureJM foundation to continue critical research. Funding the center of excellence will allow JM researchers to combine clinical evaluation with drug research targeted at combating the devastating effects of this disease. Many researchers believe that there is also a genetic predisposition to autoimmune diseases. As such, they feel that a child afflicted with JM is likely to have a blood relative who suffers from another autoimmune disease such as diabetes or arthritis. Continuing to fund this vital research is of paramount importance to fulfill CureJM’s goal to make sure that no child suffers another day with JM.
If you wouldn’t mind voting to help them stay there we would really appreciate it. You can vote once per day and the contest runs through the end of August. You can even use your Facebook login so you don’t have to register on their site. Additionally, you can text “100850” to 73774 to cast a vote.
Thank you in advance for your support.
