More Bits of Randomness

Just some things banging around in my head that don’t merit a post of their own:

First Steps:  As I was writing this my little man took his first two unassisted steps and just the day before his first birthday. That was totally awesome! The unfortunate thing is my Flip was connected to my laptop downloading videos from his birthday party, so I didn’t catch them on video.

My kid is definitely a vampire:  We wondered if he was when his first tooth broke through. Well, his second tooth has broken through finally and it is the other eye tooth, giving him matching fangs.

Neuton first impressions: I made my first run with the Neuton last Wednesday and was happy with the experience. I was disappointed that the battery didn’t make it through my whole lawn, but the instruction manual (wait, I read an instruction manual?) said that would happen. Plus, it has been so rainy here lately that my lawn has been growing like a chia pet. The trimmer attachment was a nice touch and am glad I purchased it. Also, it was pointed out to me that while I was erring when I called it the “Prius of lawn mowers”. Since the Prius is a hybrid that at times employs a conventional combustion engine and the Neuton is fully electric I should have referred to it as the “Tesla” or “Fisker” of lawn mowers. Consider this my heart felt apology for such a horrendous automotive analogy gaffe.

Dad blogger links:  Here are few links to some other Dad bloggers I enjoy reading regularly and some recent posts that I think are great stuff. Keep up the good work guys. I’ll be doing a random sampling like this on a more regular basis, but you can also find some great stuff over at dad-blogs.com where I participate in Fatherhood Fridays.

Thanks for the love. I wanted to comment here on your comment on my blog to make sure you get the message. I have made the same argument that reality TV signifies the downfall of society in general. I am so glad that someone else gets it. We have much in common. I watch House and 24 as well.

Congrats on the first steps. I know that is exciting.

Thanks man, it was very exciting. I just hope he does it again in an hour when his mother gets home. I'll admit I watch Top Chef, but thats about it in terms of reality TV. I watched one episode of the first season of Idol and that was it for me.

My son got his fangs first, too. It's a slightly threatening look for a baby.

Good to know about the Neuton – I was thinking of getting a new electric – ours still has a friggin' cord. Do you know how often I run over that??
