That sounds like a good deal. Where did you say you got hooked up with this again?

  • dadofdivas

How cool is that!!! I think we all need to ban together to get more Dads reviewing things like this!

  • theteachertom

This is cool! I want to review products too!

Sound like a great product to review and you've already READ the manual! You're way ahead of the other owners! Congrats!

I've been getting emails from a bunch of agencies recently, and this was the first one that was relevant, plus a fun opportunity.

Thanks for the support! As I said, I'm going to do my best so there are more opportunities for dads to do things like this.

Thanks Tom. If I see anything come across I'll forward you some stuff.

Ha! Thanks, normally I'd try to figure it out on the fly, but there are too many small buttons and I have to use it in a moving vehicle :)

Very cool, man. I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks man, I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces.

PJ – Lemme guess – Romeo from RocketXL? Ha – they tapped me to review the same product for my Dad Blogs column… :)

  • http://www.pjmullen.com PJ Mullen

Ha! Too funny. You planning on putting it just in your column, or are you posting it in the review function too?

  • http://heirapparent.frantzylvania.com mwfrantz

I'm going to put it in the column for sure – we could probably both
post it to the review section and maybe link them to each other? I'll
definitely link over to yours from my column regardless…

Yeah, that makes sense for us both to post reviews in the review section. Mine is getting installed tomorrow (Tuesday) and I'm planning on having my review up on the 21st. I'll watch out for your column and will link back to it as well when it goes live.

I just got my installation call last Friday, and with the holiday weekend
haven't been able to touch base with them. Looking forward to testing it
    out – looks amazing.
Also – playing with Apture thanks to your blog – for a guy with some random
references, I think it'll help some of my readers out!

Same here, I wasn't sure they were ever going to call. The thing has been sitting in my mudroom for two weeks taunting me.

Ha! Nice, I'm still feeling it out a bit, but I saw it on another blog and I'm such a plugin freak I had to give it a shot.

I am interested in your review regarding the MEX-BT5700u, mainly the BT Audio streaming with the iPhone. Are you able to access your tracks and use the radio head controls to navigate and select tracks on your iPhone via BT Audio in the same way when it is connected via a USB cable? If so what version iPhone and OS are installed? I have heard of some individduals only being able to access music controls directly from the iPhone screen in BT audio mode or transmitting no audio at all. Look forward to your feedback.

Hi there, my full review was posted a few weeks ago. You can find it in the feature box at the top of my blog. To your specific question on the BT audio streaming, I have not been able to control the iPhone via the headunit when you are streaming your audio and I have the most recent OS (3.0.1, I believe) on my 3G iphone. I can only control the volume from either the steering wheel controls or the headunit.

I am under the impression it requires AVRCP to be supported by the phone to do this – which the iPhone does not. I'm hoping the Motorola Droid (supports AVRCP) will achieve this.
