Tell Me Thursday: Get your motor running…

Motorized trike

One of the things we like to do when the weather permits is take a walk through the neighborhood.  Now that little man is older, and quite the curious little fellow, it was time to move past using the stroller for walks.  He would actually become quite agitated just sitting in it as we made our way around town.

We had started looking into ride on type things for him so that we could make our walks a more interesting experience for him and we came across this tricycle thing.  This was his birthday gift from my father and his girlfriend and it has been quite the hit.  As you can see from the picture he’s taken right to it.  All he’s really missing is his super cool dude shades and a beverage.

The thing we like about this particular trike is that it has parental controls that lock out the steering, but can be disabled so that when he is ready to power it on his own he can use it just like any other tricycle.  Also, the handle that comes off the back actually enables you to steer the thing while you are pushing him.  It has made our job easier and he is much more entertained, so he tolerates our walks.  When we first starting researching them we thought it was rather expensive for a tricycle, but considering all that it has, and the way it will grow and adapt with him, he’ll be able to use this until he is ready to graduate to two wheels.
