Tell Me Thursday: More Gymboree fun

We have been taking little man to Gymboree classes for the past few weeks now and he has been having a lot of fun.  Yesterday’s Wordless Wednesday post was from one of their open play gym sessions we were able to attend recently.  That is one of our favorite parts about going to Gymboree and, at the location we belong to, there are three opportunities each week to go to play beyond the class he is enrolled in.

So far, enrolling him in Gymboree has been one of the best decisions we have made, as each week I notice improvement in his physical development.  The first time we went he basically crawled around the place just taking it all in.  By the third class he would attempt to crawl up things, chase after balls and would let me take him down slides.  He would even willingly crawl through the little tunnels they have set up all around wheras before he would simply look into them and then crawl around the obstacle to get to where he wanted to be.

I don’t mean to sound like a shill for Gymboree, although given how much we’ve spent at  their retail stores he can at times appear to be a walking billboard for their clothing, but I am glad that he has an outlet to interact with other children his age.  After having spent most of his young life with only big people he still appears to be quite in awe of all the little people he encounters there, but he is doing well with sharing.  I’m still very much an introvert and feel like a complete outsider when we go, but I just focus on him and don’t let my own issues distract from the fun.

Such a little scooby doo! Great shot of him on the slide and another wonderful story! So glad you participate in TMT each week!

We did the Gymboree thing as well. Great for motor and social development. I also find that sticking them on the roof of your house is helpful in the development of resourcefulness and courage.
