The incredible dough with the funny name

If you’ve come around here with any regularity you know that cooking is a big release for me. I love trying new things in the kitchen and surprising friends and family.
Back in the early of December my wife was working a stretch of third shift, which meant she got home a little after seven [...]

Testing out the new camera

With the Great American Post escaping me for a second straight week, I bring you some pictures I took with my new camera.  I finally took the plunge and bought a digital SLR and, as you can see, I barely know how to use it.

  • We got a DSLR when our little girl was born...I'm getting the hang of it, but still need some work.
  • I've only had the guts to take it off full auto once. I managed to get some great shots in sport mode when my son was walking/running in a Halloween parade. There is still going to be a big learning curve.
  • Whatever camera you're using is immaterial because your kiddo is cute no matter what. And he's certainly going to give you ample opportunity to test that thing out.
  • Thanks! Well, he is kind of fast, so I needed something where I could control the shutter speed. The old point and shoot was way to slow. Now I can ALMOST keep up with him :)

GAWD, he's cute. I love the one of him in the corner cabinet.
  • Thank you. I've tried everything to keep that cabinet shut, but nothing will lock it down, so that is one of his favorite places to hide.
  • Keep on shooting. You'll get the hang of it.
  • I did pretty good this weekend, I used the sport mode during the Halloween parade as he ran around like a maniac. I got some good shots. Still a lot left to learn, but I'm having fun.
  • Are you sure this isn't the great American post? What a cutie! That face is so expressive. I'm sending your little man a virtual hug. Your camera skills are fine.
  • Thanks! Well, I still have some work to do, the camera was on autopilot, I just had to push a button. Baby steps.
  • What a cute kiddo! Seems like there wasn't too much to get the hang of to take these photos because they're pretty good. But then again, I guess there may be tons more that we haven't seen. Ahhh, the benefit of digital! -Jason
  • Two words: Full Auto :) Wait til I ditch the crutches, then we'll see what happens.
  • R U Kidding? The pics look great...digital cams are the way to go....Kudos!

P.S. Would you mind gleaning my email , and sending your mailing address please? I forgot to ask for it when you won ;-)

    Many Thanks!
  • Thanks! I'm really enjoying playing around with it. I even managed to get our family holiday picture taken Sunday. Thank goodness for the timer function! I'm email you now.
