Th’ Scoop on ‘Move over Barney Stinson’

In honor of International Talk Like a Pirate Day, I thought I’d give the Post Like a Pirate translator a spin and see what my last post would have looked like if I wasn’t such a land lubber. Yes, I totally stole this idea from The Bloggess, but isn’t thievery the highest form of flattery?

A tired little boy at Nate and Jess' reception

A week ago yesterday we packed up our thin’s ‘n headed to th’ seaport fer our long anticipated trip to Boston. We had a lot to accomplish in th’ four ‘n half days we’d be up in th’ northeast ‘n while it was stressful travelin’ wit’ a toddler who didn’t care to nap because he was too busy investigatin’ his non-childproof environs, we managed to have a jolly the hour.

Th’ main reason fer our trip was to attend a weddin’ fer me wife’s cousin’s son. We flew into Boston ‘n spent Thursday visitin’ wit’ some ‘o me family who lives north ‘o th’ city. On Friday mornin’ we made th’ drive out to Northampton, a cozy wee hamlet in western Massachusetts.

Despite th’ generally drizzly the seven seas we had a nice the hour catchin’ up wit’ family we hadn’t seen since we were all together fer a graduation parrrty last July. wee scurvy dog did his best to keep us all entertained as we caught up on what had be happenin’ in all ye pirates lives over that the hour.

When th’ big day finally came around, we were excited to get him all dressed up fer his first formal family event. Originally, I was concerned that his outfit would make him too warm, but wit’ th’ Arrr the seven seas ‘o early fall in New England that matter was quickly put to rest.

Between runnin’ around in th’ church ‘n at th’ reception wee scurvy dog had a grand barnacle-covered the hour makin’ all kinds ‘o new buckos. We received many compliments on how well behaved he was durin’ th’ ceremony, which was mostly hearty thanks to cookies we had fer him ‘n his fascination wit’ Oma’s necklace.

th’ next day our whirlwind visit took us to southern New Hampshire, whar I finally got to meet me newest godson ‘n attend his baptism. All in all it was a really nice the hour ‘n I’m glad we got to spy wit’ ye eye as many buckos ‘n family as we did.

Durin’ th’ drive back to Boston to catch our flight home it hit me how difficult it be livin’ so far away from all ye pirates, but it just makes th’ the hour ye do get to spend together more special.
