Thanks for sharing another piece of your life with us. If I read much more about you cooking, I think I'll finally get off my lazy behind and give the kitchen a whirl. I'm beginning to see (albeit a little late) that it's a great place to show some creativity.

I think using evaporated milk makes a difference in that regard, I've never tried it with just regular old milk. I can imagine the heat over time could definitely cause some issues. And that is probably the last thing I'd want to smell after a few pints in the pub the night before.

In Scotland they eat milk poached Haddock for breakfast. The smell of that first thing in the morning is enough to turn anyone off that technique. Of course it is customary to drink several pints every night too. That might have something to do with the morning problems. Anyway, nicely done effot for your wife.
