Read Time:1 Minute, 15 Second

The Odyssey and Sienna make excellent choices. In the areas of comfort, rideability, reliability, value, and safety, there’s almost no daylight in between. It really comes down to a few minor differences. The 2019 Sienna doesn’t offer Android Auto, but the Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver aids comes standard on all trims. You need to upgrade to the Odyssey EX before Honda Sensing arrives. The Sienna offers the option of all-wheel drive and has a tighter turning radius, while the Odyssey offers more legroom in the middle and rear seats and an available built-in vacuum. The Sienna has a bit more power, but the Odyssey gets slightly better highway fuel economy. Both minivans have frequently made our 10 Best Family Cars list, while the Odyssey is named our Best Buy minivan for the second year in a row.

Advantages of the Honda Odyssey

Larger cabin, 10-speed automatic transmission available, integrated vacuum option, infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, intelligent adjustable second-row Magic Slide seats, cargo volume

Advantages of the Toyota Sienna

Standard collision avoidance system, available all-wheel drive, tight turning radius, more front-seat headroom

Similarities

Excellent safety, reliability and resale values, powerful V6 engine, good driving characteristics, versatile interior

Final Recommendation

You can’t go wrong either. Those looking for the latest in connectivity and infotainment will be happier with the newly redesigned Odyssey, while those looking for the added traction of all-wheel drive will want the Sienna.
