A Toyota insider I spoke with recently called the upcoming 2021 Sienna one of the automotive industry’s worst-kept secrets. We know that it will be redesigned, which makes fans and enthusiasts happy.

We also know that it will be launched as an all-hybrid for the very first time. This should delight families looking to save money at the gas pump. Especially for long road trips when fuel dollars seem to be rapidly creeping up on our budgets.

There’s really only one problem with this news, however. It hasn’t even been announced yet.

2021 Sienna Hybrid Potential Specs

This switch to a hybrid Sienna for the 2021 model year is totally in line with Toyota’s aggressive plan to produce a massive amount of its vehicles with hybrid or alternative fuel power plants.

One thing we know for sure is that there won’t be a gasoline-only 2021 Toyota Sienna – only a hybrid.

There are also quite a few potential storylines that I look forward to learning. For example, will the 2021 Sienna Hybrid be exclusively available in all-wheel-drive, or will it also have front-wheel-drive options. This would match the current 2020 Highlander Hybrid.

What about load choices? Most Toyota hybrids run on a combination of gas and electric, with no plug-in options, like a 2020 Camry Hybrid or Avalon Hybrid.

But will it arrive with the possibility of recharging it directly in our garage or at work? This would correspond to a Prius Prime 2020 and the famous RAV4 Prime 2021 to come.

By the way, I can’t wait for RAV4 Prime. It produces 302 horsepower. wow!

2021 Arrival date from Siena

Yes, the global crisis is affecting virtually every business and industry in terrible and horrific ways. This obviously includes the automotive industry. Vehicles slated for refresh and redesign entries will more than likely be delayed. Hopefully for the short term.

The rumor circulating in many Toyota circles is that we should expect a new 2021 Sienna hybrid in the summer of 2020. This rumor has changed to “it’s been delayed”.

I don’t know what that means, and hopefully we’re just considering a temporary delay. Maybe fall 2020?

The longer Toyota waits to announce this all-new 2021 Sienna, the longer this same speculation without solid facts will continue. However, it is fun to think a little.

Time to think about the 2021 Toyota Sienna

Here’s my two cents on the 2021 Sienna Hybrid. People can’t wait to see what the gas mileage will be. This is a big problem for consumers.

There are also many people waiting for a very important statistic – the number of horses. Will an all-hybrid Toyota Sienna have enough power to climb hills and pick up speed on the highways?

I have a hunch consumers will be very pleased when all is revealed.

But when?

Thanks for reading everyone. Until the next story when I explain why the 2021 Highlander XSE will drive like no other Highlander.
